much. needed.

Sometimes you have so much crap to do that you just go away for the
weekend and don't do any of it.
That just happened to us.
Tyboy surprised me with a little weekend away. And let me tell you, it was much needed.
And simply fabulous.
We went to see the 700,000 lights glowing around temple square.
Then to a fancy Italian place where, strangely enough, you get to color on the tablecloths.
{Now that's our kind of eatin'}
Then we got a little lost in the big city of SLC.
{I guess we will always be small-town kids at heart.}
And we ate some more.
And ooed and awed at the beautiful Christmas trees everywhere.
And felt grateful that we had each other to get lost with.

We are paying for it now. Pretty much started off the week with a 1 am homework session.
Sometimes the pros of needing to get away just outweigh the cons of not doing your homework.
We shall be hittin' the books this week.

at our house

Thanksgiving usually looks like this at our house:
A lot of men sitting around. And standing around. Watching football and talking about sports and guns and other things of the sort.
Aaanndd..a lot of women chasing kids around and making stuffing and stirring gravy and setting the table and doing dishes.

Of course, lots of good food, family, friends, and laughs.
And the most fabulous and delicious turkey any of us had ever laid eyes on.
 And the raging viral plague that hit us all two days later.
Nothing like working off that 4,000 calorie dinner like having the flu.
Way to kick off the holidays, eh?
